Facilities
Bedrooms
All of our rooms are shared dorms which range from 4 – 12 bed share. We also have two female-only dorms with comfy single beds. Our rooms are spacious, clean with large lockable storage lockers for every guest! Next to every bed is a personal double power socket, plus you can access the free unlimited WiFi from every room.

Bathrooms
Summer House has numerous showers and toilets located throughout the building. Our hot water system ensures that hot water is always available around the clock and our cleaning team works hard to make sure the facilities are clean and ready for use at all times.
TV Room
Summer House has a huge TV room at the back of the hostel. We have constructed an awesome two-tiered grandstand seating with plenty of comfy cushions. We have a large flat-screen TV with over 100 cable TV channels, plus a great selection of free DVDs. We also put on a weekly movie night with free popcorn.
Luggage Storage, Computers and Book Exchange – all free!
If you have a late flight and don’t know what to do with your bags, don’t stress as we provide free luggage storage to all guests on the day of their checkout. How good is that! Just chat to our reception team who will show you where the bags are stored. We provide free computers to guests for use and next to these is a huge selection of books to use while at the hostel.
Laundry
The Guest Laundry is located in the courtyard. The commercial-grade machines cost $4 per wash, $4 per dry and we have washing powder available at Reception for 50c.
Kitchen and Food Storage Area
Summer House has a large, clean and tidy guest kitchen with gas stove cook tops, microwaves, toasters and kettles. On Sundays we provide free pancakes between 9 am – 11 am. Next to the kitchen is a large communal dry food storage area. In addition you’ll also find commercial-grade fridges to keep your food cool and fresh!
Courtyard
You won’t find a better courtyard in Sydney! Why not enjoy your freshly cooked meal under the Sydney sunshine or enjoy a few beers with new friends. Our huge fig tree provides relief from the sun during the day and is lit up with fairy lights during the evening to make a magical setting. Make sure you check out our cool graffiti mural highlighting Sydney’s beautiful skyline. We have both an internal and external courtyard so you can still enjoy it during wet weather. All of our social events are hosted here – including free sangria nights, free Friday BBQs and awesome pre-parties!
Free Unlimited WiFi
We have sophisticated high speed WiFi infrastructure installed throughout the entire hostel to ensure that no area of the hostel is missed. Plus, unlike most other Sydney hostels, it’s 100% free with no download restrictions! How good is that! We have 8 access points throughout the hostel so you so you can connect and stay in touch easily!

Summer House Reception
The Reception Desk is open from 8 am – 8 pm weekdays and from 9 am – 7 pm weekends. Our friendly and experienced reception team have a wealth of knowledge so make sure you put it to good use! Plus, keep an eye on the events board behind reception to see what events the hostel has organised for the week!
Security
Above all else, the security of our guests is our highest priority. CCTV is in operation throughout the building and we follow a strict ‘Guests Only’ policy within the hostel. We use a sophisticated bi-lock key mechanism on all doors.
